Toby Harbanuk of Alaska Imagery is the featured artist for the month of August at the Juneau Artists Gallery. Toby’s ability to capture the northern lights is legendary. His photographs are printed on metal that give them a particularly vivid quality. Come meet Toby and see his great new aerial photography.
Join us at our First Friday event August 4th from 4:30 to 7 pm. Find us on the ground floor of the Senate Building, 175 South Franklin Street. Great treats will be provided.
A life-long Alaskan, Toby Harbanuk’s outdoor photography reflects his passion for Alaska’s glaciers, mountains, waterways and wildlife. He is an avid kayaker, climber, hiker and artist. His work has been exhibited across Alaska and as far away as Washington DC.
His artistic approach is aggressive and holistic in that he pushes the envelope with photography of exotic locations and unusual angles. In addition, he prints his work on non-traditional materials such as aluminum, glass and ceramic. His pieces include functional kitchen art such as photo cutting boards and trivets, as well as photography printed on aluminum panels.
In addition to photography, Toby’s professional background is in information technology, aviation, urban firefighting and tourism. He makes his home in Juneau. His work can be viewed at the Juneau Artists Gallery as well as his website: www.Alaskaimagery.com
