After working alongside the Alaska Travel Industry Association, Travel Juneau’s Destination Marketing department has brought some fantastic travel writers to Juneau already this month.

Fran Golden and her husband, David Molyneaux, who is also a travel writer, had a flawless experience traveling through Southeast Alaska by the Alaska Marine Highway ferry. While Fran was working on updating Frommer’s EasyGuide to Alaska Cruises, she is also pitching Porthole Magazine, Bloomberg, Conde Nast Traveler, Cruise Businesses Review and others. Her husband has a steady column in the Miami Herald that often gets picked up by the Dallas Morning News and Cleveland Plain Dealer. They had a wonderful time in Juneau and we look forward to seeing the many articles we expect to come from their trip.

Tim Richards is an Australian freelance travel writer who is a member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers.  He was hosted by Canadian Tourism as well and is planning to write a piece on his journey traveling through Southeast Alaska and Canada using only the railroad and ferry systems. He was very inspired by our amazing little city and plans to pitch other stories based on his experience here. The Australians are adventurous and independent, not to mention they are Alaska’s top international market – and 90% of them cruise Alaska.
