Wings Airways, Inc., which has a long-standing presence in downtown Juneau as well as in the Alaska tourism and aviation community, recently purchased its own hangar at the Juneau International Airport. In addition to being a permanent fixture at the Juneau airport, Wings Airways will continue to offer floatplane service to the Taku Glacier Lodge from its primary location at the Merchant’s Wharf, home to floatplane activity since 1922.

Since the recent purchase of the former Wings of Alaska hangar, it has been revitalized with new energy and pride of ownership.  Under the Wings Airways partnership the hangar has been fully renovated, and will be home to the company’s Maintenance and Finance Departments. In addition, Cargo Facility space will soon be available for lease.

Wings Airways began in 2002 when a dedicated, passionate group of local Juneau residents, already equipped with long time aviation experience, purchased the tour business and the floatplanes operating on the downtown waterfront. The Wings Airways team has long held a commitment to safety and to the authenticity of a unique Alaskan experience. With a fleet of five DeHavilland Otter seaplanes, Wings Airways provides glacier flightseeing tours to the historic Taku Glacier Lodge for locals and visitors alike.

“We are so excited about this additional footprint in our community,” said Wings Airways President Holly Johnson. “This opportunity for small business growth fits perfectly with our philosophy on safety, customer service, quality and local pride.”

Wings Airways’ hangar is located at 8421 Livingston Way in Juneau. For more information on Wings Airways, please visit:
