The State of Alaska offers its Alaska Host: Customer Service for the Visitor Industry training multiple times throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to have you and your employees trained on customer service best practices, which are evolving the same way that our marketing strategies do year over year.  See below for more detailed info and upcoming trainings (April 9th and 16th!)

NEW – Alaska Host – Customer Service for the Visitor Industry.  Whether you are looking for a summer job in the visitor industry, or simply wish to improve your communication skills, Alaska Host is a fun, “hands-on” introduction or refresher course on customer service. This State of Alaska certified training program focuses on the visitor industry, but it applies to any business. It teaches participants how to provide quality service and ensure customer satisfaction.

Objectives:

  • Understand the importance of providing quality customer service;
  • Recognize and anticipate customer needs and expectations; and
  • Learn how to deal with dissatisfied customers in a professional, helpful manner.

This course is open to students age 16 and older. This is a 5 hour course. It will be offered twice, downtown at JDHS (April 9) and in the valley at TMHS (April 16). For more information about the “Customer Service Essentials” course, visit the Alaska Host website:

Upon completion of the Customer Service Essentials course, participants receive an Alaska Host certificate and pin.
